We're partway through approving nominations and have a few questions! Lots of nominations this year and we're very excited to approve all these bite-sized fandoms, and would love some clarifications on a couple we've encountered.

Scope to exclude metanarrative sequel?
This originally standalone novel recently got a sequel which seems not to continue the plot. Is this sequel a continuation of the main story or some kind of metanarrative that’s not part of the core work? Can you clarify scope for this nomination as being just the original novel? If no response, this nomination will be accepted at the end of noms period, with the expectation that offers in this fandom will be scoped for just the original novel.

This looks like a prequel to a larger series. Can you provide clarification that this work stands alone, is comprehensible without having read the other books, and also that you would be satisfied with a fic written by someone who has read this and only this? I am not the Sunrise on the Reaping nominator BUT while it is a prequel, it's definitely a full story in itself (and a majority of characters are not in any of the other books because they don't survive this one) . There are major differences between how the Games work on the trilogy vs this one, and I would say that all of the info you need to comprehend this book is in it. I would be satisfied by a story that was written by someone who had only read this.

Tbh I watched it before properly sitting down and watching Dino Fury proper and watched Dino Thunder YEARS before MMPR and my prompts are all focused on the events of Cosmic, so I’d say it stands pretty alone and I’d be happy to get a fic from someone who hadn’t seen Dino or MMPR or any of the other cameos’ source material.
