We're partway through approving nominations and have a few questions! Lots of nominations this year and we're very excited to approve all these bite-sized fandoms, and would love some clarifications on a couple we've encountered.

This fandom appears to be a spinoff of WandaVision (TV). Is it comprehensible without having watched WandaVision and other MCU stuff? Is it satisfactory to receive a fic written by someone who has seen AAA and no other MCU content? If no response, this nomination will be rejected at the end of noms period.

Bunny - Mona Awad
Scope to exclude metanarrativesequel?
This originally standalone novel recently got a sequel which seems not to continue the plot. Is this sequel a continuation of the main story or some kind of metanarrative that’s not part of the core work? Can you clarify scope for this nomination as being just the original novel? If no response, this nomination will be accepted at the end of noms period, with the expectation that offers in this fandom will be scoped for just the original novel.

Hawkeye (TV 2021)
MCU context needed?
This MCU show has characters in it that were introduced or had major plot points in previous MCU installments that are continued in the show. We’re seeking clarification that this nomination (accepted in previous years) is acceptable and comprehensible to a creator who hasn’t seen MLP:FIM. Is it satisfactory to receive a fic written by someone who has seen MLPG G4: EG (2013) and nothing else? Runtime concerns
This TV show appears to have 23 episodes and a runtime of 28 minutes per episode, resulting in 10+ hour length. Can you clarify runtime and point us to where we can confirm that? If no response, this nomination will be rejected at the end of the noms period.

Highlander person here. I really only want to nominate the original 1986 movie, not any of the others, and inputting that kept defaulting to movies as a whole. I made sure the relationship nominations were for the original movie only, and that film is entirely comprehensible on its own, since it predates the show by 6 years.

Not the nominator, but: Vintner's Luck stands alone and can be read without the sequel, which happens years later and with an overlapping but very distinctly different cast of characters. (With a solid guess of who the nominator is: I'm betting the nominated characters/relationships are for characters who are only in Vintner's Luck, too!)

Equestria Girls

Hi there! EQG nominator here. My nominations include characters from the first three Equestria Girls movies (the original TV-release trilogy) which can be viewed in under 8 hours for all three films!! The films can be viewed without watching the FiM series, and any details from the show are given clear context in the films to avoid confusion!

Never thought of Agatha All Along as a direct spin off from Wandavision, the show gives you the context you need and introduces its own cast of characters self contained to the series that haven’t been introduced before or used in any other MCU properties aside from Agatha herself.

I take your point about Hawkeye (TV 2021), but it was in the tagset last year and I received an excellent fic for it, so I just nominated it again without giving it much thought. That said, I think there's probably enough backstory given in flashbacks and such that you could follow along okay without any other MCU knowledge. Obviously, it's helpful to know more, but not absolutely necessary, IMHO :)

I’m the My Roommate Is a Vampire nominator and can vouch that the book is self-contained. It’s a romance novel, and the “sequel” is billed as a whole separate story about a completely different couple set loosely within the same world of vampire lore. I haven’t even read it tbh.
