Huzzah! Assignments are out and we have thirteen initial pinch hits. These pinch hits assignments are for a complete story of 1,000+ words or a 1 finished art piece as per the requester's medium, in one of the requester's fandoms and featuring at least one of their requested characters or relationships, minding their DNWs.

I just like their vibe a lot? There is so much to unpack of their history. Like who were they before, what did it look like, was there an on and off? Is Gao Yuxuan secretly extremely obsessed with Zhuo Zichen?

I love misunderstandings.

"Gao-da'ren is perfectly welcome to sit. Of course, it would be polite to offer tea, but as I am afraid you will run away with my nephew while I am gone, you'll have to forgive me for not offering you any tea as well." <- Also this line drives me feral. What IF they do take his nephew but it's not Gao Yuxuan's fault and Zhuo Zichen hunts him down cause he thnks it is! I love angst and misunderstandings.

Once upon a time, when they were children, their families had been comparable in status, and they had been something resembling friends, but with the fall of the Empire and the rise of western influence, the Zhuo had fallen on hard times and the Gao had only risen, year by year, to be the wealthiest and most influential family in Lishan-zhen. <- but also this!! What does it look like if Zhuo Zichen had kept in contact, what would that power dynamic look like?

But also what does the arranged wedding look like Zhou Zichen doesn't seem like the type to trust quickly!! There is so much potential there, just like grab the angst, misunderstanding and hurt/comfort dial and turn it onto overload.

These two rattle in my skull rent free, this is the fic that makes me request Kind King/Cruel Brother's widowed ex-husband as original work all the time.

Just like where to start, I love the misunderstandings, I love the Sironn's POV, I love the angst and the fear and the hope and the hope being taken away and the back and forth.

Sironn froze. The freeing certainty of death had gone to his head. He had forgotten about all the ways he could be hurt in the meantime. But Eshan's voice hadn't gone cold and brittle yet. Perhaps it wasn't too late to head off the Lightsend anger. <- this lives rent free in my head, the fear/angst and trying to get ahead of your captor/enemy before they can hurt you!!

Sironn swallowed, and found he had to look away. No. The shy poet brimming with romantic thoughts of a good marriage to escape his cold family was the last version of himself that could see a brighter future. . <- Okay but imagine Sironn arranged with Eshan instead the first time, but with rumors of a cold King, and an overwhelmed Eshan that doesn't mean to be cold but they won't let him visit his betrothed! Misunderstandings! Pining! Not Actually Unrequited Love! Sironn writing love letters to his husband that go unread because the courtiers whisk them away and Eshan never sees them!!

I'm particularly interested in some of these ideas, but anything that sparks from my ramblings is on.
- what does their marriage look like
- what if they meet at the wedding alter first instead, and Sironn has to go through all this fear and misunderstanding when he's already married (Sironn offering sex for protection to Eshan, one confused Eshan who needs to load?)
- Modern AU MODERN AU (maybe even winner's room AU, where Rishard is his manager instead?)
- The what-if scenario they discuss being true!!! What if they HAD been truly irreversibly in love as children ;;
- Eshan returning earlier and saving Sironn from Rishard.

Just thinking about this one makes me want to cry gah. I love them, especially Attikos is so pure of heart, Leonidas is that too but he's only known hardship in his later days.

The misunderstanding in this one is so good, and I love the pining. I'm so down to crank up the misunderstanding where Leo thinks Attikos is undeserving of him (maybe Leo starts isolating himself??). But I also think Attikos is deserving of a lil outburst at Leo tbh as a snack.

Otherwise Leonidas seeking him out at the academy? Or Leonidas offering him something real when they go on the ship, or a job?
Or Leonidas realizing that actually he can hear how Attikos life is hard and they go out on secret jobs and give the money to Leonidas' family?

Also consider: Modern AU?? Regency?? Cyberpunk and give Attikos the coolest prosthetic of all time?? I love arranged marriage.

✦ I love this book and will love anything you want to make related to it. I do think exploring pre-canon or post-canon would be interesting - for pre-canon, it's implied these two have known each other for some time before the beginning of the novel. How did they meet? What were their lives like in court? etc. For post-canon, I'd love to see any sort of take on their lives after The Doctor is resurrected, or even a fleshing out of the Mermaid's life in between their death and resurrection. ✦ I love this novel - the subtle worldbuilding, the slow-creeping perspective shift after the narrator gets infected with p. emilia, and the general feeling of decay the world. It left me wanting so much more after I finished reading it, istg I have not stopped thinking about it since!!
✦ The Institute: I adore just...the concept of The Institute as a character - everything about them seems fascinating. Their backstory, their clinical detachedness, the physical concept of being multiple consciousnesses at once, the procedures they've invented over time, etc. Anything related to the Institute as a character, their backstory, or worldbuilding around them, would be amazing.
✦ Emile: I personally loved Emile as a character - his backstory, his bonds with his dogs, and the professional/friendly relationship he curated with The Institute and Simone were all so interesting to me. I am also so intrigued by anything related to what might happen after the novel - I feel like it's left up to interpretation as to whether Emile is actually able to make it fully out of Verdira without dying? but anything related to a reality where he is able to escape, and he and Simone make it out relatively well would be amazing!
✦ Simone: I loved all of the little bits of backstory we got for her - her two moms? the small details we got about the place she grew up? her scrap collecting? the short tidbits of information about the ship she climbed into where she saw both p. emilia and what was originally the institute on the ship (at least, I think that's what that scene was implying??). Honestly anything related to Simone's backstory would be great!!

I made a promo on the promo post about this! In short it's a low-fantasy retro RPG set in 15th century Slovakia.

I love the characters and will ship them in any combination - add in or switch around Adam also, for that matter! Or gen of Jozef luring anyone into playing games with him aha. Any kind of elaboration on canon interactions, post-canon stuff, divergence AUs would be lovely.

I'm also fascinated by the possibilities of modern au for this. Does Jozef still manage to lose every game even when he can p2w? What does the Pavol-Matej relationship look like in a different historical context? What does Matej's art look like in modern times? Is it still a low-fantasy setting even in modern au and what does that mean?

Art of either canon or modern era would be totally fantastic too! Focusing on one character instead of a ship for art is totally fine. I have not been able to shake the idea of femboy game streamer Jozef with thigh high diamond stockings and cat ear headphones, or Matej in a modern cassock, or Pavol throwing modern fireworks at various nature sprites, or. yeah!

This is a hungarian novel about archaeologists from the 1960s who suddenly timeslip to the 1480s.

I love Gyula so so much and think he should have gotten a) to hook up or at least INTERACT more with Matthias and/or b) to live out his industrialization dreams. I also love Matthias so much and would love any kind of better ending for him! let him survive, let gyula change the past, send matthias into the future so that he can go back and change his own past - i adore time travel fix-its no matter how they come about!!

Canon divergence could be great - send Gyula back to an earlier time, or on his own? Or how about a gyula or matthias-pov of Matthias talking to Karoly over the radio?

These are short (13x~7 minute) animated folktales, in Hungarian but I have linked subs in my letter that mtl pretty well. Some good ones for Jester content are Furcsa látogatók, A névnapi jóslat, Egyszer volt Budán kutyavásár, and Beatrix királyné tréfája.

I love the folktale vibe for this - would love any kind of story set in any of the episodes or a similar/new undercover adventure! Would adore anything where they get to interact more! post-canon fic is wonderful! all the power dynamics around captivity and betrayal, whether Matthias sussed out what's going on and just accepted it for political expediency or what. Also so many interesting potential points for canon divergence: what if Vlad HAD had to go to Buda to swear fealty? what if Matthias's army had gotten there in time to meet Mehmed's? What if Vlad HAD killed Mehmed? What if Matthias hadn't accepted the forged letters? Or anything else you can think of! Vlad Tepes 1979 is a historical movie about the reign of Vlad the Impaler.
Vlad 2003 is a very very cheesy horror movie about a magic necklace Vlad was supposed to have been buried in causing time travel, murder, possession, resurrection etc.

So in Vlad 2003, in modern era, this guy Mircea is trying to get hold of the magic necklace to bring Vlad the Impaler back from the dead for political purposes? and uh he kind of succeeds, but the Vlad who shows up is like, weird creepy vampire who only cares about reincarnation of dead love-kinda Vlad, and things end poorly. And Mircea deserves a Vlad who cares about politics and corruption and so forth and not only possessing people with ghost sex wolves :(

I'm wildly open to any kind of crossover that gets them into the same time - bring 1979 Vlad to the future with the necklace, send Mircea back to the 1400s and let him stomp on time butterflies to change the timeline to better suit him, anything else you can think of <3 Put Mircea in Vlad's brother Mircea's body if you like, that could be interesting 👀

Did the chairman have her permission to offer her hand in marriage? Was the chairman serious about his offer?
Why did the narrator decide he'd rather have cash than marriage to the chairman's daughter and half of an agricultural collective?
How does Jožin adapt to the zoo? Does he hate being in captivity? Does he enjoy a wider variety of food? Does he enjoy watching and interacting with people, even though he can no longer hunt them?
Possible prompts:
The narrator wants to accept the chairman's offer, but only if the chairman's daughter's wants to marry him. She does not. She uses traditional (organic) methods on her family's personal plot, and has observed the differences between her family's garden and the collective farm's chemical agriculture – and noticed that the pest insects are the first to return after application of pesticides; the predatory insects, spiders, and birds take much longer – allowing for greater losses to pests in the chemical agriculture than the traditional. Futanari: Give Valentino whatever genitals you want. Vox being able to change out his parts for whatever (though likely requiring some convincing, depending on the time and his current mindset) is also amazing.

Genderbending: Either or both being women? Yes. As long as they are still both awful to everyone outside of the Vees, give it to me.

Infidelity: Technically I don't see Valentino cheating on Vox, because Valentino wouldn't have said anything about being monogamous. But Vox feeling like he's being cheated on, despite knowing better, is something I'm down for exploring. I tend to think Vox is too monogamous and obsessed with Valentino, but even if he saw someone else, Valentino wouldn't consider it cheating.

Trans Headcanons: I usually prefer them both going by he/him, but if you want to make one or both transition into or from women or nonbinary? Also good. Val particularly being good with fluidity and taking it is stride is excellent. I imagine Vox would have more hangups with it.

Non-Con/Dub-Con: I still prefer it's not non-con, but sometimes I will ask for it. Or, if it is, they both enjoy it at the end.

Omegaverse: Give me them both as alphas. Give me beta Valentino who tries to act like an alpha with all his other tricks. Give me Vox hiding being an omega with suppressants, whether or not Valentino or Velvette know. Give me NESTING FICS!

objectively the best Bridgerton couple, no argument.

I love how Hyacinth is self-assured and intelligent and stubborn and Gareth loves her for it! I really love Gareth! He’s def one of my favorite Bridgerton spouses, and I also just love his whole family backstory too! The fact that he’s not a bastard on a technicality, but also like his daddy issues (and mommy issues to a lesser extent lbr) and then marrying into SUCH a loving family as the Bridgertons - I love it! I would say Hyacinth is my favorite of the siblings; I love how she is smarter than just about everyone, and she knows it (and she’s not afraid to show it).
